Dr. Colleen Murphy

Psychologist

Colleen Murphy is a licensed psychologist and graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Virginia. Her doctoral internship was spent at UVA’s Children’s Medical Center where she was a pediatric psychology intern. Her dissertation was a study of how children learn illness-related concepts, and how this learning is affected by chronic illness. She spent the majority of her career working in a residential treatment facility with persons with significant developmental disabilities. The focus of this work was around the management of severe, and sometimes life-threatening, behavior problems.

Dr. Murphy is certified to administer the ADOS-2—the Autism Diagnostic Observation System, Second Edition, as well as other diagnostic tools to diagnose autism —and looks forward to employing these tools to provide families diagnostic clarity.
